BUY LEE FIELDS "FAITHFUL MAN" ON CD OR LP NOW!!!
Great Soul Music is ageless and it is not just entertainment. It reaches down deep below the surface and touches your inner being a.k.a the soul. Lee Fields has a great deal of experience in tapping into the magical energy that invokes that feeling.
Perhaps among the most powerful means of achieving that experience is a heartfelt Soul Ballad, which “Faithful Man” is chock-full of. Lee Fields started spilling his heart on vinyl in the late 60s and in all that time love hasn’t gotten any easier. “Faithful Man”, the title track, tells the story of a man whose devotion is tested upon meeting an exceptional woman. A series of dramatic heartbreaks, painful admissions, loving professions, hurtful discoveries, and other emotional floods ensue thru out the entire album. I one day envision dedicating “You’re The Kind Of Girl” to a special lady in my life. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to have the girl just because you already have the theme song… Yes, the typical cart before the wheel approach…ha.

The production is beautiful and lush with crisp drums, rolling organs, horns ranging from sharp to relaxing, sneakily hypnotic guitars, resulting in an vastly enjoyable sonic landscape. The team responsible is Leon Michels* & Jeff Dynamite, also known for their fantastic work on Aloe Blacc’s masterful “Good Things” album.
As for Mr. Lee Fields, you are hard-pressed to find many artists who started releasing records in the 60s, who are still active on the scene, and have been able to tap into a younger fanbase. Lee Fields has done just that and not by making adjustments to cater to the fans, but by taking 40 years to continually perfect his craft. That people, is the dedication and integrity of a very “Faithful Man”.
