The well-seasoned groove junkies of Minneapolis' Deep Soul Deities have produced their first full-length album consisting of songs over 2 years in the making. Recorded in several different studios in both analog and digital formats, DSD gave live-take recording an extended effort in order to encapsulate their true chemistry. While their debut EP "Strange Brew" (2010) incorporated elements of funk, jazz, and underground hip hop, this self-titled release offers an even deeper stretch through the barriers of genre, pulling on the roots of soul, blues, Afrobeat, and dance music.
